“He is the radiance of the glory of God
and the exact imprint of his nature,
and he upholds the universe
by the word of his power.
After making purification for sins,
he sat down at the right hand of the
Majesty on high.”
HEBREWS 1:3 ESV
Let heaven and nature sing. Do you need a fresh vision this Christmas? Like old Ebenezer, we all too often spend our days chasing after earthly accruements. It doesn’t take long to realize that “too much of a good thing”…isn’t. Have the glimmering lights that drip from the tree lost their luster this year? Are the brightly colored baubles that hang from the branches faded by the worries of bills due? In our family, gift-giving is the equivalent of writing “I LOVE YOU” in 40-foot tall letters across the sky. Yet, at Christmas we have a much more precious show of love offered to each one of us. The gift of hope, and love, and forgiveness wrapped in the smallest of packages: a newborn laying in a manger. Humble yet powerful. As T.D. Jakes said, “Jesus is God’s most extravagant gift.” Whether Christmas finds you with many gifts under the tree, or none at all…God has the greatest of presents in store for you: a Life renewed. You only need reach out and take it.
