“For everyone who has been
born of God
overcomes the world.
And this is the victory that has
overcome the world – our faith.”
1 JOHN 5:4 ESV
Disappointment. It never loses its punch. The last lingering taste is just as sharp as the first. We’ve all tasted it. Even Jesus Christ, in the garden of Gethsemane, tasted the bite of unfaithful friends. During this holiday season, as Thanksgiving swiftly leads to Christmas Day, many of us have an extra bounce in our step and a song in our heart! But for others, this time of year carries with it a sadness, a reminder of love lost. Maybe you find yourself somewhere in the middle. There is one thing that we can all hold onto: God is greater. Whether we find ourselves filled with joy and thankfulness or overwhelmed by doubt and fear, Jesus Christ reaches out to His hand to us. Whatever circumstances you are in today, Jesus Christ looks on you with compassion and understanding. He calls us to trust Him, believe in Him, and find our rest in Him. He wants to capture your heart, empty or full, and wrap you in His arms of Love. Afterall, love is all you need.
