RUN(out of time)

“Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up on
wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.”

ISAIAH 40:30~31 ESV

Sometimes, life feels like a sack race. With the bag over your head. It’s easy to get lost in the monotony of the daily grind, and lose sight of what is important. Need to recharge your batteries? The answer is here, right in front of us: those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength. It doesn’t say those who master their schedule and get all the laundry done. It doesn’t say those who transcend a new level of personal zen and just go with the flow.  Personal renewal is not about productivity (or the lack thereof). The secret can’t be found in “Have It Your Way” or “Just Do It” or any other catchy phrase we can come up with. Our purpose in life, the drive that we need to keep us moving forward, comes from waiting on the Lord. I have found this inner strength through face-to-face time with God. That means me, setting aside the time (and undivided attention) to open my Bible and get in the Scripture. To read God’s Word and then ask Him what He’s saying to me. The Bible really is a personal love letter. But, I’m never going to know how He feels, if I don’t read it.
