“There is none holy like the Lord;
there is none beside you;
there is no rock like our God.
The bows of the mighty are broken,
but the feeble bind on strength.”
1 SAMUEL 2:2,4 ESV
Shhh…come a little closer, I want to show you something. Look. See over there in the branches of that tree? A little bird has made a nest. I wonder if she has laid her eggs yet. This is just one little sliver of many moments spent with the kids. We search for newts and butterflies. We run through puddles and look for rainbows. For a youngster, life is full of wonder. Life is wonderful! So, I want to know: how did we wear the shine off of life? When does it become a dull and monotonous chore? What if I looked at God’s Word in a new light? What if it became fresh and new to me, again? God used a rainbow as a reminder of His promises…and they haven’t changed. His love is unconditional. His faithfulness in everlasting. Shhh…be silent before God in wonder and awe. Stop wrestling and trust in Him. Stand before Him in reverence, with worship and submission. Look…in His perfect time, He will accomplish His purpose.
Keep searching for rainbows.
